So I'm sitting here at work, and all the sudden, the building goes boom.  And this is not California, it's Oklahoma.  Nobody is blaming plate tectonics on this.  Everyone's rushing outside trying to find out what hit our building, thinking maybe some construction nearby went horribly wrong.  But no.  Nothing fell, nothing hit us... This must be the FIRST EARTHQUAKE EVER for me.  Weird.

I was right.  They didn't find anything wrong, except extreme swelling in my knee.

O well.  Still waiting on the bill for that -_-

Well, with 1500 people with my first name, and 5519 people with my last, this is hardly surprising.  Although I wonder if it excludes myself, as I would sure like to believe that I exist...

I just heard that we're going to have a golden retriever puppy at work for the next few months :D

There's a guy here who volunteers with Paws for a Cause, and he's training the puppy for the program.

But we're not allowed to play with him/her because I guess that could interfere with the training.  Going to be hard restraining myself!

Last night we discovered a terrible thing.  Ezzie, the cat pictured in my icon was lounging in an open window.  And the screen was gone.  So we went and searched the house for the other cat, Pie.  She wasn't there.  And it was pitch black outside.

Panic!

I went outside and called for her several times.  And lo and behold, here she comes, running up and meowing at me.

She only started squirming around in my arms when she realized we were heading back to the apartment.  And once we got in, what does she do?  She heads right to the window with the broken screen.  Little beast.  I guess what she really needs is a nice fenced in backyard to get her wild out.

Anyway, I could have made cat sausages yesterday.

Well I had a doctor's appointment yesterday.  He put me back on my old medication, which is so good.  Not so good is what he did to my knee!

Don't read if you're squeamish about needles!!! )

Today though, thanks to the pressure release, my knee feels a lot better.  just the part that got needled is hurty anymore, as opposed to the whole knee, so I guess I can forgive him :)

I now have my intern project completely finished.  It went live yesterday, and will be used by the whole company come Monday.  And now, I have completed that crash course in SQL->internet communications!

I'm still working at corporate.  I haven't moved on to Tinker yet, I have to wait until there's an opening for me there.  I can do that.  Just takes time I guess.

Well last time I went to my new rheumatologist (who I don't really like, he took a phone call and talked shop to what sounded like another doctor for about 15 minutes during my appointment -_-) he prescribed me a new medicine regimen, which was really okay with me since I hadn't gotten entirely better on the old Sulfasalazine.  So now I'm taking Plaquenil twice a day.

And I'm having a major flareup.  I went from having about a good year of few symptoms other than occasional joint pain to quickly sliding downhill in a matter of a couple weeks.  My left leg is quickly becoming nigh useless, as the knee joint is inflamed, and the leg muscles are getting progressively weaker.  Weak enough to stop being able to support me.  I thank my lucky stars that the same thing is not happening to my right leg, as I remember what that was like from Senior year.  The bright pink Still's Disease rash is crawling over me whenever I get hot, and I've been having low grade fevers again.  I haven't had this since last year.  I'm worried that I'm going to lose the ability to walk soon, and not be able to go to work.  I'll have to get crutches, or god forbid, a wheelchair.

To top it all off, it seems that something is interfering with my sleep, as I keep having slight dreams that are corruptions of reality (like, when you dream early in the morning that you're getting ready for work/school and then the alarm goes off and you're all confused) so I'm going to work in my dreams, doing stuff that doesn't make much sense, and staying still halfway awake and waking up a lot throughout the night, trying to figure out what the heck I was just doing, and why I'm still in bed.  The result is that I don't get much rest, even though I'm in bed.  I wish my dream would just change, although I did remember having a dream about a video game... where I was doing things that didn't make sense, and was half asleep, and woke up wondering wtf I was just doing and why I wasn't playing...  So I'm not sure the subject really matters.  And yes, the dreams started when I started the new medicines.

I told my doctor what was going on, and, inexplicably, he told me to go off of the NSAID that was prescribed along with the Plaquenil.  Prescription NSAIDs are like very strong asprin, or aleeve.  If anything, it was the only medicine actually doing anything to slow down the inflammation.  I don't think it would have caused the flareup.  I have another appointment with him on Monday.  I just hope I don't arrive there unable to walk or lift my head.

Ya.

Lots of dull stuff, really.

Cats are still weirdos.

I'm still fine, working at The Corporate Office.

I still can't knit...

They're canceling Stargate SG-1, which is so very sad.  But hey, 10 years isn't bad, especially for a sci-fi show.  They're canceling SG1, but keeping Atlantis, which is mind-bogglingly stupid, imo.  Atlantis' characters suck except for maybe McKay.  And really, I get addicted to sci-fi shows because of the awesome characters and the plot, and Atlantis is lacking both.

BSG, on the other hand, has awesome characters and plot to spare.  Next season is said to be even darker.  I'm not sure how they're going to do that, exactly, but I'm all for it.

Subject:Babylon 5 Returns?!
Security:Public

http://www.aintitcoolnews.com/display.cgi?id=23963

Quote by JMS:
"The biggest announcement I'll paraphrase: Every 6 months, I get together with WB to discuss what to do something with B5. The DVD sales have raised over 500 million in revenue. Now, I produced B5s 110 episodes at about 90 million dollars. Somehow, B5 is still 50 million in the red. Every time I mention that to WB they say We made a good deal, huh? Anyway, they asked if I wanted to do a feature film but I declined mainly because I can't yet picture structuring a B5 movie as long as [Andreas Katsulas] and [Richard Biggs] insist on staying dead. Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to but right now I can't do something big and those two roles will NOT be recast.

So I thought about it, and I suggested a bunch of short films. Little mini-movies or an anthology show set in the Babylon 5 universe. I pick a character and develop an hour-long story around that character. Stories that I wanted to tell during the B5 series but never had the chance to develop. They said, Okay. I said I wanted complete creative control. Do not change my words that I write, and I want that in writing. They said, Okay. And I want to direct. They said, Okay.

This project was green lit less than two weeks ago. Its going to happen. Production starts in September in Vancouver, Canada. Post-production will occur from October to February with a release of the first three anthologies in the second quarter of 2007."

!!!!

Does this not sound like it could be amazing?  A mini-movie on the story of Delenn would be my personal fave.  Well, scratch that.  I would much prefer a J'Kar mini-movie, but alas, as he says, Andreas Katsulas insists on staying dead ;_;

So today is a special day at the office.  We're having a 4th of July luncheon, with a cookout.  Everybody is supposed to bring something, so I made my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.  I know that I absolutely adore these cookies, but I was nervous to see if everybody else liked them.  Well, I just got my first compliment.  "Wow, those cookies are good... I just had one, and I was thinking: 'Well, to heck with the rest of the food.'"

Went and saw Superman last night.

Everybody keeps saying it was so awesome, but I don't know.  I like the Spiderman movies better.  The actors really didn't do such a great job, imo.  Superman had two whole emotions in the whole movie, Civic Duty, and Pensive, and the two looked remarkably alike.  I didn't even get the feeling that he really cared all that much for Lois.

However, it was gorgeous.  I will give it that much.  The special effects were pretty much the whole movie, but it was pretty.

Nothing much to report lately.  Except for maybe that Tim is so awesome :D

Yesterday I got up, and found that he'd been awake all night (baaad).  However, he was putting the finishing touches on a breakfast for me  :D

Today, since his sleep schedule is all messed up, he was up all night again (baaad).  But, I got breakfast again!  And we watched Rocco's Modern Life while eating.

I could so get used to this :)
